WW: Police NOT following the rules w/LINKY

Welcome to my Wordless or NOT so Wordless Wednesday!

Okay, so I was hoping that it would be more wordless than anything, but I believe that this picture deserves an explanation, lol.

This past Friday, we not only attended our first ever Town parade, but the kids and I were invited to walk in the Parade,
along with the Youth Enrichment Program group, it was a blast!
(I will post those pics hopefully this week ;) )

The parade was literally down the block from our house, so we walked home.  We played for a while in the front yard, because it was what i believe to be the only sunny day this year, lol.  After being out there for a while, the pain from my body (R.A & Fibro) was getting to be unbearable, so I went inside and let the kids play for a bit longer.  One of the kids came and told me that a Police Officer parked in front of our house.  I told him it was probably for the many drunk people that were about to walk by from the parade, to come inside.  About half an hour later, another Police car parks across the street, by this time I'm watching the kids from the front door; a few minutes later a tow truck pulls up.
YES!  Someone called to tow the Police car, if you pay close attention, by the back of the officer's car; there is a sign.  The sign says "No Parking Anytime" and let me tell you, the neighbor across the street who owns that white truck you see in the background...
Is one mean machine!
He literally comes outside and always screams and curses at anyone who parks there, I understand that it is hard to park such a big vehicle, but he takes it to the extreme.  Anywho.... the kids later told me that the Officer told them that the Man across the street called and ordered them to tow the car because he broke the rules...
so they did.
WOW!

NOTE THOSE WELL BEHAVED CHILDREN ALL SITTING IN A ROW?
I swear they were so mesmerized by the whole thing,
they somehow decided to be well behaved and sat patiently for
the whole 35 minutes it took for the tow, lol.

What do you think of the situation?
Would you call a tow truck on a Police Officer?

  1. Gosh that's a bit tough. I probably wouldn't have called the tow truck on the police. You have an interesting neighbor by the sounds of it.

  5. Probably not. Police around here take a very dim view of "mere civilians" messing with them like that. And, they have things like guns, Tasers, and "resisting arrest" on their side.

  9. IF I was the Police, I would send him (truck owner who called it in) the bill for towing and impounding of the Police Car. If they are on duty, that is fair enough, where as if they are visiting someone there for lunch, that is a different matter!!

They are not above the law, but I think the neighbour overstepped the mark! How would he feel if he needed the Police, but they couldn't attend as the car has been towed and impounded? Karma??

Mines up as well at AussiePomm - A Photographers Kit!!!!

    Have a great day!!

  12. Call a tow-truck on a police officer's car? Not unless I wanted to live in a world of pain ever after! (I'm almost certain the policeman in question knew who called for his car to be towed. & I'm sure he looked up your neighbor's car through DMV. The next time your neighbor breaks even the smallest traffic or parking rule, I'll bet you he gets a king-sized summons & ticket!)

  23. That is too funny cant wait for hubby to get up to share it. But the police did break the rules but would I have called no way as now the police may look for reasons to give him a ticket.

  24. That is so funny, I'm sure the officer was not happy about it.
Thanks for sharing :) Happy WW...

  25. Wow they would laugh in Philly! It's amazing how the kids behave for drama.

  26. Well rules are rules, I don't know if I'd call the tow truck on the police, but its funny none the less.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Wow... I don't think so, the officer may have been tending to a situation at the parade. It is funny though ;)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Wow seems rather silly to me!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I probably wouldn't have called, but would have stated that he was breaking the rules. Wow! That a police car got towed, that your neighbor called and that all those children sat so nicely the whole time! Hope they got an ice cream cone afterwards! ;)

  30. Bet someone got into trouble for that one!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I would have called the police first and asked them to radio the cop to move his car. But the tow truck bit was much funnier to read about :)

  32. Wow, that's quite a funny story, I'm very surprised that they towed it!

  36. WOW! That is certainly a different twist in th evenue.I can't believe they actually towed him away but don't the rules apply to them too.LOLThanks for sharing.

  37. This is ridiculous! Cops do a job that, unless you are a cop, you can't even imagine. Rarely thanked, yet they still carry on their oath to Protect and Serve. I could go on and on, but my blood pressure is rising just reading all this. I leave it with~ we'll see what that guy objects when he NEEDS POLICE HELP!

  38. It is really hard to cope with a difficult neighbor. I am lucky that my neighbors are all kind older people that understand kids and remember how it was when they had young ones. It is incredible that the cop was treated this way -

  39. Never seen that one before :)
